This actually happened this past weekend (before this site was up), and I wrote this note to myself when I got back home:
Today I attracted a parking space right in front of my friends house, one I could pull right into without having to parallel park. I got there and there were 3 open parking spaces right in front of his place and I was able to just drive right up. :) When I came back out a couple hours later to go get some beer and food (and move to another space since the meter had run out) the two spaces behind where I parked were still free. I went all the way to the store, came back, and all 3 spaces were still free. I just pulled right up to the one behind where I’d parked last time. :)
This is Portland, Maine we’re talking about here. :) There’s rarely ever 1 space free anywhere near his place let alone 3 in a row directly outside his place all day long. The act of pulling up into the parking space and my reaction were the same as I had envisioned.
