Steve Pavlina on Subjective Reality
I just started reading Steve Pavlina’s blog and there is just a huge amount of great ideas and information there, and it’s all completely free. His site is dedicated to personal development in general, not specifically the law of attraction, although he does touch on that a lot. I particularly liked this article on the Law of Attraction. He talks about some of the seemingly tougher questions the idea of the law of attraction brings up, such as “what if people have conflicting intentions?”, and “if a child is abused, does that mean the child intended it in some way?”. His answer to these questions is Subjective Reality. I sort of had these ideas floating around inside my head already, just from stuff I’ve learned from different religions, quantum physics, life experience, etc… But reading this article and other articles sort of put these things into focus and gave me a bit of a different perspective on them.
Subjective reality says there is only one singular conciousness, YOU, and everything and everyone in reality is a manifestation of your thoughts. The You in this context is not your body or your mind. The You in this context is conciousness. It is through this conciousness that your mind and body and everyone else’s mind and body, and everything else are created. Essentially in this context, You are God. You are God experiencing itself through the perspective of this particular mind and body that you have created. Your mind and body and everything else in reality all stem from your conciousness. Essentially you are everyone and everything in reality. You are simply choosing to experience reality from a different perspective. There are no conflicting intentions, because everything is YOUR intention. All of the creative power in the universe comes from the same source, You. If you are observing conflict, it is really conflict within yourself. It is a manifestation of your will. You chose to experience it. If you can accept this, and accept responsibility for everything that is, then you can begin to conciously change it. It is YOUR will that brought this reality into manifestation, and it is YOUR will that can change it and create something else entirely. The only limits are the ones you place on yourself.
This is a very enlightening concept and I feel that it is true. There are many levels of truth of course, but I believe this to be one of them. If you’re interested in reading more about Subjective Reality, Steve has written several other articles dealing with the subject in addition to the one I linked above. I highly recommend checking out his site for that and much more: http://www.stevepavlina.com/.
